WHERE YOUR PAMPER OR LEARNING HAPPENS

You will be pamper or taught in the home I share with Mick, my husband of over thirty years and four black cats. We live in a large house built in 1929 with a wonderful rural garden in the quiet suburbs of Brighton, Sussex and are accessible by bus and train, with London Road Station and Preston Park Station within walking distance. There is plenty of on-street parking.

LOCAL WALKS

In-between your pampering or learning, there are two places nearby where you might like to go for quiet walks:

Hollingbury Wild Park Nature Reserve
Hollingbury Wild Park is Brighton and Hove's largest local nature reserve with spectacular views over the city. The South Downs National Park extends right into the city here and important species-rich chalk grassland survive on south and north-facing slopes. There are grazing fields (popular with seed-eating birds), woodland and a dew pond. With panoramic views over Brighton and surrounding downland, Hollingbury Hill Fort is a prominent prehistoric feature and is a scheduled ancient monument. Hollingbury Woods is located to the east of Hollingbury Park and Burstead Woods is further east near Burstead Close.

Preston Park
Preston Park the largest urban park in the Brighton and Hove City and was brought by Brighton Corporation in 1883. The park is on English Heritage’s Register of Parks and Gardens of special historic interest. Interesting features include:

  • The Clock Tower (grade two listed)
  • The Tile House
  • The rose garden planted with old English style shrub roses.
  • The demonstration food garden in partnership with Brighton & Hove Food Partnership’s Harvest project.
  • Preston Park Rockery
  • Preston Manor’s walled garden
  • The Coronation Garden (at the northern end of the park alongside Preston Manor). The garden was laid out to celebrate the coronation of Elizabeth II and was designed as a scented garden for the blind. The garden contains the famous Preston Twins, the two oldest and largest surviving English Elms in Europe (between 250-400 years old).
