Reflexology in Brighton
I am a qualified Reflexologist practicing in Brighton. I provide
reflexology treatment to clients both local and from all corners
of the UK. I also sell reflexology related training products (click
here) and gift vouchers (here).
What is reflexology?
Reflexology is an ancient, holistic healing method involving
the use of pressure and massage on reflex points found on the feet
and on the hands. Like many other complimentary medicine techniques,
reflexologists use reflexology both in treating disease and as
a preventive measure promoting good health.

Reflex areas on the hand and foot act as small “mirrors” of
the body's various organs and systems. By using specific pressure
techniques, energy blockages can be detected by reflexologists
through the presence of minute granular areas, clinically referred
to as crystal deposits. These occur in the part of the foot or
hand that corresponds to the part of the body that is out of balance.
The pressure and massage I use in reflexology are designed to disperse
energy blocks, break down crystalline structure and encourage the
body to heal itself.
The theory in reflexology is that the feet mirror the body. By
placing an outline of the body over an image of feet, you can see
the toes correspond to the head area. Where the toes join the foot
is the shoulder line. Below that, are your lungs. As you go down
the feet, the other body parts and organs correspond to the specific
defined areas in the feet.
Vital energy or life force, known as Chi in Chinese, Ki in Japanese
or Prana in Sanskrit, flows between the body organs. Freely flowing
energy promotes good physical and mental health. When the energy
is blocked, the corresponding parts of the body are affected. The
objective of a reflexology treatment is to unblock and free the
passage of energy throughout the body.

What can reflexology help with?
Reflexology can help relieve the symptoms associated with: digestive
disorders, cancer treatments, migraine, hormone imbalances, sleep
disturbances, pregnancy, stress-related disorders, pain and fatigue.
Precision Reflexology
Precision reflexology is a form of reflexology and involves the
same philosophy and practice as other forms. The philosophy is
oriental in origin and involves terms such as balance, harmony
and energy. The practice involves the application of appropriate
pressure to reflex points on the feet to maintain good health and
encourage healing. Precision reflexology does not rely on force
or physical pressure but gives the client the element of choice
in how much his or her energies are altered by the treatment. The
other distinctive feature of precision reflexology is the use of "linking".
This involves holding two, or sometimes three, reflex points at
the same time. As the link is held, I “listen" through
my hands and match the treatment to you with precision.

What happens during a reflexology treatment?
During reflexology treatment, I ask you to remove footwear plus
socks or tights. You could lay down with a lavender eye pack across
your eyes and a comforting blanket across you or you might choose
to sit up and look out across the fantastic views from my treatment
room window. I may burn essential oils and soothing music is played.
I start with a cleansing of the feet followed by relaxation movements
on each foot. We then go through the healing treatment and finish
with a foot massage using essential oils or cream. Your reflexology
treatment takes one hour.
