WHAT ARE FLOWER ESSENCES?
The flower essences are not therapeutic drugs – but work
on the mind, soul and spirit and are obtained by extracting the
healing vibrational quality from the highest evolved part of the
plant – the flowers. Working on the emotional level, they
harmonize negative feelings and belief patterns held in the subconscious
mind.

Flower remedies are not new. The Australian Aboriginals have
always used flowers to heal the emotions, as did the ancient
Egyptians.
There has also been a very long tradition of use of flower essences
in India, Asia and South America and they were also very popular
in Europe in the Middle Ages. Hildegard von Bingen (12th century)
and Paracelsus (15th century) both wrote about how they collected
dew from flowering plants to treat health imbalances. The effect of these essences is similar to that of meditation
in that they enable you to access the wisdom of your Higher
Self. This releases negative beliefs held in the subconscious
mind
and
allows the positive virtues of the Higher Self - love, joy,
faith, courage etc. to enter your being. When this happens
the negative
beliefs and thoughts are dissolved, balance is restored and
healing occurs.
If an inappropriate remedy is chose, it will not work. The
essences can be used by adults, children, plants and animals.
They can
be safely used throughout pregnancy.
Please note that flower essences are completely safe and
non-toxic - unless you happen to be highly sensitive to
brandy, which
is used as a preservative (in which case, you can simply
add the
essences to a cup of steaming hot water to evaporate the
alcohol).

BACH FLOWER REMEDIES The term “Flower
Remedy” refers to the products developed by Dr Edward Bach,
a London bacteriologist and homoeopath in the 1930s.
Dr. Edward Bach rediscovered flower essences over fifty years
ago using flowers of English plants and shrubs. His vision
was that
of simplicity. Like Dr. Bach, all the great healers such as Hippocrates,
Paracelsus, Aristotle and Hahnemann agreed on this point. They
believed that good health was the result of emotional, spiritual
and mental harmony.
Dr Bach became disillusioned with the side effects of drug therapies
and turned his research to the healing power of nature. He
believed that illness was a result of mental or emotional balance
and
that the unique energetic property of a plant could be used
to rectify
an imbalance and restore the awareness of wholeness. Using
the homoeopathic law of potentisation, he reasoned that the
healing
effects of plants might also be contained in the morning dew
found on their flowers.
Dr Bach believed that harmful emotions were the main cause
of disease and he classified the various emotions into seven
main
categories.
These seven categories were then divided further into 38
negative feelings. Each negative emotion is associated with
a particular
plant. He also developed a compound of five flowers called
Rescue Remedy to be used in emergency situations or for trauma.
AUSTRALIAN BUSH FLOWER ESSENCES

Australian plants have a real beauty and strength. There is something
quite remarkable about them. Apart from the fact that Australia
has the highest number of flowering plants, they are the oldest
in the world. Metaphysically, Australia has always had a very wise,
old energy and at the moment there is a tremendous new vitality
in this country and New Zealand.

IAN
WHITE. Naturopath and Homeopath B.Sc.,N.D.,D.B.M.
Founder of the Australian Bush Flower Essences
The
healing method of flower essences was rediscovered
by Dr. Edward Bach sixty years ago through the
use of English flowering plants. Today our society
and its needs are totally different to that of
sixty years ago. There has been a great need for
remedies that would help people deal with the issues
of the 21st century - sexuality, communication
skills and spirituality to name but a few. The
answer to this need has come from the Australian
plants, developed and researched by Naturopath,
Ian White a fifth generation Australian herbalist.
Ian grew up in the Australian bush. As a young
boy his grandmother, like her mother before
her, specialized
in using Australian plants and would often take
him bush walking. From her deep understanding
she would
point out the many healing plants and flowers.
He learned a profound respect for nature
through her
and went on to become a practitioner and a pioneer
working with and researching the rare remedial
qualities of Australian native plants.
