CAREER CHANGE COACHING
Sometimes it can be difficult to work out whether you just need
a new challenge, or if it’s time to take a completely different
career direction. The average person can expect to change careers
several times in his or her lifetime. Reasons why you might want
a change of direction now could include:
-
Life change e.g. divorce
- You want more money
- You have burn-out
- Prospects have worsened
- The work is boring
-
You’re experiencing work-related stress
Career change coaching involves these 3 steps:
- Self Assessment: where we look at your motivation, personal
qualities, transferrable skills, interests, values,
roles, aptitudes, preferred
environments, developmental needs, life realities
and preferred ways of working.
- Exploring Options: Where we identify and evaluate occupations,
industries and other possibilities including
re-training.
- Action Planning: Creating your short, medium
and long term career development plan.
While I work all kinds of career changes,
I specialise in healthcare careers.
RETURNERS’ COACHING
You may be returning to work following a sabbatical, bringing
up children or an illness. Whatever the reason, you may be
facing
a crisis of confidence, a need for a career change or wanting
insight into the current job market and how to get back into
the swing of things. Returners’ Coaching involves these
5 steps:
- Self Assessment: where we look at the non-paid skills you
have gained, your motivation, personal qualities, transferrable
skills,
interests, values, roles, aptitudes, preferred environments,
developmental needs, life realities e.g. childcare and
preferred ways of working.
- Confidence Building
- Exploring Options: Where we identify and evaluate occupations,
the labour market, volunteering, returning to learning
(including funding) and self employment.
- Job Search Strategy: Where we develop a job search
strategy, look at writing your CV and covering letters
and preparing
for job interview.
- Action Planning: Creating your returning to work
plan.

JOB SEARCH COACHING
Here, we look at developing your job search strategy including
writing your resume, looking for work, gathering company information,
composing covering letters, taking the speculative approach
and completing application form.

INTERVIEW SKILLS COACHING
You’ve been invited for interview! This type of coaching
gives you a thorough grounding in confidence building, relaxation
techniques, preparation and interview skills development.

CLIENT TESTIMONIALS
- Thank you very much for all your
help and advice. I can't say how fantastic
your knowledge was and how you put me back
on the
right track after veering off in completely the wrong direction!
Had I not had the consultation with you I would have not
sat down and thought about what I was really
trying to achieve with
my future. I would have been trying all these little courses
only to find that it would not be what I really wanted to
do and that some of them would not have
been accredited at all and
would have been rendered useless! I am now more focused and
am aware of what avenue that I really want
to pursue. With your
help I am now able to head off in the right direction so
that when I leave my current employment
in 6 years time - I will have
something to offer to my prospective clients - having been
able to market myself in the correct manner
beforehand. Again, Laurel,
thank you for your invaluable help and advice - I am so glad
that I found you on the internet! I shall be able to thank
you again in 6 years time when I am ready
to begin my new found route
of career. P.M. Army personnel
- Laurel. Thank you so much for
all your helpful confidence boosting comments
on my interview and presentation preparation.
They were just what I needed after several
failed interviews. I was offered the job
on the same day as the interview and have
just finished my first week - tired but
happy. Thank you once again. RT. systems

Hi Laurel, Just wanted to let you know I was offered

called
today! So thanks for your help. Nicola, support worker
